Dear friends
I am happy and convinced that our community here in Islamabad is gaining momentum at the right time. As far as the direction of our efforts is concern, yes we can always express our concerns and I think that lala Khuram is justified for his candid comments. Sure we must somehow involve those 60 million Seraiki who are looking forward for a positive change. Well it is not that easy to involve all the Seraikis, rather it will be impossible or say the least this effort will require lot of time and planning.
I think right now we have to initiate with what we plan at Jasmine garden because there is hardly anytime left to interact with all those 60 million Seraikis and what we can very positively do is to, at least, register our viewpoint.
Now for future, I suggest that we have to start a massive awareness campaign through both mainstream and alternative media and raise cultural, social, economical, and even aesthetical issues of seraiki nation. As we all know that we have some inspirational figures like Mazher Arif and Fyaz baqir with us, so I insist that we must plan to launch a media campaign for a huge impact.

Dear seraiki friends.
Reading the Emails of Khurrum Khan and Mazhar Arif, I intervene to say that they need be taken seriously by those working for their 20 June demo. This is actually great success that few most able friends joined you although somewhat critically. This is success of the series of events you people organized in a very cold environment of in-activism during last one and a half year—the Damaan-Ashram meeting, the follow up Sawail meetings in Bahawalpur and Multan, Thal and Islamabad, the Lok Party meetings in D G Khan, Kot Addu, the Seraiki delegation’s visit of Garhi Khuda Bakhshs and condolence at Naudero, the Seraiki Conference Multan-Bahawalpur and the recent Jhok-Mela Demo. and press conference on 20th of May in Islamabad (and if you want to add) a seminar by Wagha on ‘Early education in mother tongue’ in SDPI. At last, some more friends are in although by denouncing you, that is actually a gesture they are with you.
Few things more:
The objection, ‘five persons’ speaking on behalf of 60 million Seraikis, sounds a bit too authoritarian. History is made of the prophetical tradition of individual(s) speaking for all mankind—Prophet(s), Luther King(s) and Socratese, Marx(es). It is not deciding on behalf of millions, it is calling the millions. Please remember, in early the 1960s they were a similar small number of individuals, surely less than the number attended Roz-Jasmine garden meeting, who used to meet and discuss single name for our language in Multan. Out of the small group, Mahr Abdul Haq and few others pressed for Multani as name. A minority of one person, Mir Hassan-al Haidri opined and insisted on adopting the Sindhi name of our languagea that was Seraiki. He then called the millions of Seraikis through his weak voice and pen and the millions honored his call and today we hear Seraiki … Seraiki … Many, at that time too, objected on Haidri’s efforts as ‘who are you to decide’. He too might have answered, ‘I am just suggesting…’.
Over 30 years long struggle, we became used to some old friends interrogative questioning “kia karaide pae hao?... einde naall kia faeda theesi? …”. Friends, the million dollar question is what is “FAIDA”? Is it that the struggle is justified only if it takes me to the office of Chief Justice of Pakistan, or that of President of Pakistan?
Friends, it is true that personal interest works behind all our efforts; every individual hopes to elevate a bit higher, each member of a polit bureau, or the Central Committee imagines himself future-head of the party and head of the state. But beauty of social phenomena is, these personal interests turn into dreams and the dreams melt into ‘good for all’.
Friends, I assure you, future is for rise of neglected human faces, the neglected cultures and languages at least once all over the world. That is must before the much said universal culture comes into being. And this country has no way out but to follow the models set in other multi cultural countries, and with better standards.
Wagha

Kashib Baloch sain, I think your analysis is correct. you have to stat from somewhere.struggle for independence in India did not start from 300 million people but from a few. butif you cause is just and legitimate your number will multiply and time will come the movement will be taken seriously do not get bogged down in semantics. get cracking. I am your non Muslim follower living in England and anxiously waiting for the day when i will come back to my homeland and be with my fellow Seraiki comrades.Could you pass on my comments yo your other comrades. Let me know anything i can do further the cause of Seraiki movement from this end. Satish ----------------------------------------------------- Dear Satish It was so pleasing to hear from you, sitting outside and yet feeling so warm for entire Seraiki nation. Well there were some questions raised about the capacity and ability of those handful Seraikis but I think, as I have suggested earlier, that ways and means of resistance can not be defined. Every one is free to adopt the form, and only thing that can provide a singular impact to this entire movement is a constant dialogue. We have the power of media and through this media we can interact, plan and resist together. I also admit that mainstream media can not be used as the sole toll to gather ourselves, certainly due to its exaggerated dependency over corporate sector. But on the other hand alternative media can go long way in this regard.
Alternative media with an alternative stance and alternative content shall be the apt beginning for us Seraikis to get rid of all those distorted definitions surrounding Seraikis and their demands.
I know that this suggestion of mine is not clear political expression as Mr. Mazhar mentioned but I still believe that with resistance within any system might require an acute and immaculate clarity.
I hope that if we start an alternative media campaign we will eventually be able to develop a required political idiom. Regards KASHIF
