A local Lok Sath was arranged at Taunsa Barrage at the Plateform of Sindhoo Bachaoo Tarla at 3 PM on October 14, 2006 in which effected people[male, female] of TBERMP funded by world Bank , Hirrak Team and Pervaiz Sahib from irrigation department participated. People belonging to Left Bank, Right Bank, Water-logging area and from land erosion due to river diversion told their problems created by the project. Participation of female was more than last saths. People asked to solve their social and environment problems, construction of Spur for saving from further land erosion and lining of Muzafar Garh canal and T.P.Link canal for saving the thousands Acre land from Water logging. They also demanded survey to be started about the losses of land , crops, houses , fruits trees, fish and chiken forms which they have lost due to land erosion by diverting the river towards left side and due to running the Two canals with full capacity for saving the coffer dam down the Tunsa barrage they also told due to water logging they cannot cultivate wheat in this season. At the end representative of irrigation Mr Pervaiz told the people we are trying hard to solve the problems of people and their problems would be told to the higher authority but people said we do not trust on your higher authority because they know our problems and are not serious about the solution of our problems so they do token strike against the work of DESCON company peacefully for ten minutes in which females also participated and lead the demonstration and at the end it was announced next sath will be held on 14th November 2006 at Taunsa Barrage. And all people took responsibility they will further motivate the people at grass root level for more participation of people.
