The abusive term of “Janubi Punjab
The term of “Janubi Punjab” for Seraiki Wasaib forwarded by Punjabis and is consciously or unconsciously accepted and used by Seraiki parliamentarians, NGOs, Seraiki TV channels, Print media and and some simple Seraikis. It must be vehemently denounced by all Seraikis. A resolution in this context was passed in a meeting of noted Seraiki intellectuals and activists in a meeting helled at Bhakkar on 25th of August.

That is true.
Coined somewhere in early 1990s, the term Janubi
Punjab went unchecked as if accepted by Siraikis
themselves. Compared with the Pakhtoon assertion on
'Pakhtoonkhwa', this provides an interesting contrast.

To many, Janubi Punjab is acceptable as a metaphor for
partition of Punjab. To others, by accepting the term,
the Siraikis would surrender their principle stance
i.e. this region has never been part of Punjab,
neither by name nor by history etc.
The term can be a good topic for a researcher to trace
coinage of the term, would probably lead to the
'wisdom' of agencies

Indeed it is abusive term.Perhaps first of all it was used by Nawa-i-waqt Multan .After it our simple freinds used it.I agree with Ustad sahib and resolution of Bhakkar.

It is indeed the timely endeavour to regain our language and refuse to accept the (absusive) identity superimposed upon us by the colonizer. Indeed, Siraiki identity is now being increasingly encountered by such numerous encroachments as well as cooption challenges. it is its crucial test how it responds to these challenges?

Our Seraiki areas like Dera Ismail Khan, Taank, Msianwali, Khushab and
Bhakkar etc.have a strong feeling and reservations about this term. This
kind of division may suit to some of our simple friends in southern
Seraiki wasaib. Our Seraiki national parties remained part or Pakistan
Oppressed Nations Movement(PONM) where the 4 members from each Nation
represented in central body of 16.Not a single member was taken from above
mentioned Seraiki area. I think that this was a willful action of our
socalled Seraiki leaders.

Re: The abusive term of"Janubi Punjab"

I was checking old files of Monthly BALOCHI DUNYA Multan today. There
was an article named "Khana BadoshooN ki Aabaad kari" by Dr Abdul
Khaliq Khan M.A .It was issue of March 1959 . In this article JANUBI
PUNJAB was used two times .Page 41.Its means this term is very old
for siraiki Wasaib.

Respected Rasoolpuri Sahib,
I think you are evaluating this sensitive issue simply. The Punjabis
have been naming Seraiki as a dialect of Punjabi. They do not accept
Seraiki Language as an independent language and Seraiki Wasaib as an
entity. Then what about Maghribi Punjab and Shumali Punjab. This term
may suit to some Serakis living in Southern districts of Seraiki
Wasaib. It is a modern consipiracy to divide Seraiki Wasaib.
Your examle of a writing of 1959....At that time it was right and it
is out of cotext after a long struggle of Seraikis for quest of their
identity. Should we restart again from 1959.

My dear Ustad Sahib

I only told that this word was being used from 1959 .It was only research work 'and nothing. Now situation is different .Regular use of this word is indeed a conspiracy .I agree with you. There are several other cospiracies in which over several freinds are involved .We should also watch them .Thank you sir.
