it is heartening to see that the langauge we all HEARD at home actually has such a rich heritage.
I would love to know a few things.
1. i live in India and have no education in Arabic / Urdu. Is Seraiki today only taught in that script? Or is the Gurmukhi Script used too?
2. Is there a roman variation of the sound system and alphabet of Seraiki?
3. Is there any course that i can take up to study Seraiki Linguistics and Literature?
I head a language institute in Bangalore, India. I speak English, Punjabi, Seraiki, Hini, Kannada, German, Spanish and bit of French. I am very interested in furthering my studies in Multain.

Dear Vikram and others, Seraiki is written in Shahmukhi (urdu) script,because no one in Pakistan can read Hindi script.Urdu press media uses urdu 'Nastaleeq' which is readable only in photo form on computers.Wasaib team has developed Seraiki unicode script for the first time which is a freeware and is awailable to members.It is in Nasakh as bbcurdu.Indeed gurmukhi script was used for writing seraiki before partition here. Seraiki Deprtments are working in Islamia Uni. Bahawalpur and BZ university Multan. iub.edu.pk and bzu.edu.pk The authorities in Pakistan are reluctant to give Seraiki its right status.But a nation 50 million strong having thousands of years cultural heritage cannot be be supressed in this age, as we believe.
