Emergency in Pakistan 2007/11/05 10:38 Karma: 0
What would be the consequencies of this Emergency regarding relegious intolerance and terrorism in the name of Islam in Pakistan?

Is this situation not due to only absence of true leadership in politics?

Is clear-cut, poweful army-rule is not better than the staggering democratic rule under the umbrella of army?

Could there any new leadeship arise in these circumstances that fight for the basic rights of general public and having motives to curb the terrorist forces in Pakistan?

What do you think? What do you say?

Dear Raza,

Current political crisis of Pakistan has its roots in 1940s . It is a known fact that Quaid E Azam was not a popular leader in a areas now constituting Pakistan . In Punjab Unionist had government where as in NWFP government was that of Doctor Khan Sahib. Balucistan was non existant and only in Sindh Muslim League had established government. It was only afters Nehru declration regarding land reforms that all the Jagirdars and Fuedal Lords rushed towards Quaid e Azam and , Muslim League got clear cut majority in these areas. On this occassion Nehru had expressed his fears that Pakistan after its creation will fall in hands of Feudal Lords. Unfortunately his prophecy became true .

An other sinister development which took place soon after creation of Pakistan were attempts by Military bureaucracy to mingle in decision making process. Quaid E Azam in his address to gathering at Staff College Quetta categorically informed the military officer that they had no role in decision making process. Their role was to execute the orders given to them by the Civilian political leaders and not that of decision makers. He further told that army was the servant of masses and nothing else.

At the same time Justice Muneer appeared on the scene and set the prcedence of Doctrine of Necessity and validated coup staged by the military .

Ever since Pakistani masses are held hostage by Feudals, Military , Civil Bureaucracy and Judges of supreme court who are always willing to put national interest back against some material gains.

Even after 60 years of independence Pakistani ppl still have not decided how to govern themselves. This current state of emergency is not interest of any one . It has pushed Pakistan into advanced state of decay and now destruction of Pakistan is imminent.Military cannot rum any country , its role is destruction or defence against enemy , military leader have no training in running affairs of country. Their role is that of Chowkidar and not that of administrator.

Moral of Pakistan army is low as usual , and it is not capable of facing challenge through to it by its own ilegitimate children called Talibans. As matter of fact Talibans are moving very swiftly and bringing new areas under their control .

People Party seems involved in bad politics , and Benazir is desperately waiting to become PM . Situation is hopeless and the whole nation is awaiting some big tragedy. Only tiem will tell whats going to happen. I assure you we will not have to wait for long , some thing is about to happen.

Lets pray for our country, after all its our land and just like mother . Lets pray for the life , property and prosperity of our people, because any misery taking them in grip will also affect those who will be far and way from it. Lets pray that God forgives us for our collective mistakes of 60 years.
