Land Grab BY Military. 2007/11/11 02:49 Karma: 9

In recent years enermous public land was alloted to mighty military bureaucracy . The land alloted in Seraiki wasaib was more than alloted in other areas of Country and Dera Ismail Khan is the district in which land alloted was more than land alloted in any other district . In this district , Rakh Miran which consisted of thousnads of acres of irrigated land was alloted to Military Generals. Molana Fazl u Rehamn who represents Dera Ismail Khan In National Assembly was alloted 100 acres for keeping his mouth shut against this unjust war against public lands.

Similalry in Islamabad 500 farm houses each worth 50 million ruppees was alloted to these miliatry generals . When Chief Justice took su motto action on this distribution of Public land among the generals he was removd fom his post and emergency was declared against the justice in the country .

A book by Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa , Miliatry Inc , which includes details of monetary gains obtained by military people was banned in Pakistan and Asyeha Siddqa through PTV was declared Indian Agen.

The political parties which are fighting the worst kind of dictotar ship in the world must put recovery of these public lands on their agenda .

There is saying in Seraiki : "Muft di ladhi tay peo puttar Yadhi" same is happening to lands in Pakistan.

The corrupt and treacherous military leadership instead of granting something to the most deprived areas of Pakistan is hankering after grabbing what they can.I would like to introduce here the book named Military Inc.: Inside Pakistan's Military Economy by Ayesha Siddiqa Agha(from Khanqa Sharif Bahawal Pur). You would be amazed and also perturbed after reading the startling facts and figures mentioned in this book. You can also download the book free of cost here is the link

Dear Kissing The Skies,

Thanks for sharing information with us. I have tried to download the book but link has been deactivated on demand of the publisher.

It is quite unfortunate that our nation has been enslaved by the people who were supposed to provide it defense against external enemies. During last 60 years military bureaucracy has acted as gang of thugs who are involved in looting the resources of this god forsaken land.

According to book Military Inc. Since 1965 to 2003 on average 190,000 acres were distributed among military generals . During 1980s , these lands were alloted at the rate of Rs. 50 per acre , while in 1990s this amount was increased to Rs.60 per acre.

Most of the lands alloted during these years belong to Seraiki Wasaib. Where poor locals are mired in abject poverty , where as new settlers on these lands are leading prosperous life. A Seraiki ahkhan goes " Bharoo allay khawun tay ghar allay dholay gawun"

I hope Army's days have been counted. It is becoming very clear that state of Pakistan and Army can not co exist. However ,Pak army deeds so far , are indicating its intentions to survive at the cost of Country itself. Wise people say don't cut the Branch on which u sit , but unfortunately boots don't have brains.

Note: I like your nick , it sounds like some native American name.
